Kaspersky: New malware uses pirated apps on MacOS to hijack crypto wallets
Kaspersky Lab has discovered previously unknown malware that enters macOS users' computers through pirated software and replaces their Bitcoin hot wallets and Exodus wallets with infected versions. Researchers say hackers are still developing malware in preparation for new activities.
The malware targets macOS 13.6 and above, and when users enter their computer security password, hackers can obtain the password. When users try to open an encrypted wallet that has been invaded by malware, hackers can obtain the private key of the encrypted wallet.
