U.S. SEC delays decision on Fidelity Ethereum spot ETF application
The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has postponed the deadline for making a decision on Fidelity's Ethereum spot until March 5th, according to a document submitted on Thursday. The SEC stated: "The Commission believes it is necessary to designate a longer period of time to take action on the proposed rule change in order to have sufficient time to consider the proposed rule change and the issues raised therein." Bloomberg analyst James Seyffart said: "This move is entirely expected, and in my view, the truly important date is late May."
Previously, it was reported that Fidelity had applied for an Ethereum spot ETF in November of last year.
