UK Regulators to Launch Digital Securities Sandbox for Tokenized Securities Testing
The U.K. has implemented a new regulation that enables its financial regulators to operate a sandbox for tokenized securities. This sandbox will allow companies to test new products and solutions under regulatory supervision. The Digital Securities Sandbox (DSS) will be run by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and the Bank of England, and will also enable businesses to test distributed ledger technology for digitizing traditional securities. The DSS will subject companies to modified rules in case current ones act as barriers, and regulators will be able to test out new technologies and make rule changes accordingly.
