OpenAI co-founder Greg Brockman: Will do greater things with Sam Altman
OpenAI co-founder Greg Brockman posted on X social platform that he was shocked and saddened by what the board did today with Sam Altman. He is also trying to figure out what happened and currently knows the following:-Last night, Sam received a text from Ilya (another co-founder and chief scientist) requesting a conversation on Friday noon. Sam attended a Google Meet where the entire board was present except for Greg. Ilya told Sam that he would be fired and the news would soon spread.-At 12:19 noon, Greg received a text from Ilya requesting a quick phone call. At 12:23, Ilya sent a Google Meet link. Greg was informed that he would be removed from the board (but still crucial to the company and would retain his position), while Sam had been fired. Around the same time, OpenAI released a related announcement.Greg said that he and Sam have received a lot of support and encouragement, and supporters should not worry because they will both be fine. Greater things are yet to come.
