Google invests $2 billion in AI startup Anthropic to compete with Microsoft's ChatGPT
Google has invested $2 billion in Anthropic, an AI startup that aims to compete with OpenAI's ChatGPT. This investment is separate from the $500 million investment previously announced this year. Amazon has also invested $4 billion in Anthropic, which is seen as a rival to OpenAI. Anthropic plans to raise up to $5 billion in funding over the next two years to build a "frontier model" called "Claude-Next" that aims to be ten times more capable than today's most powerful AI.
