On October 24th, cryptocurrency startup smlXL announced that it has completed a $13.4 million seed round of financing with participation from a16z crypto, Greylock, and others. The new funds will be used to establish a team of 16 people and develop products, including EVM.code and evm.storage.

Citizens will now be able to pay taxes, fees, tickets and permits entirely in crypto starting with BTC, ETH, USDC, and USDT. The city partnered with a bank that will receive crypto payments and convert them on the spot to U.S. dollars, allowing for the free flow of crypto in the entire economy.
