Fold Holdings, the first publicly traded bitcoin-native financial services company, has significantly expanded its bitcoin treasury by adding 475 BTC, bringing its total holdings to 1,485 BTC, valued at nearly $130 million. This 50% increase in bitcoin holdings was made through the issuance of a convertible note with a conversion price of $12.50 per share, more than double the company’s closing share price on March 5. The strategic move mirrors the capital-raising tactics pioneered by Michael Saylor’s Strategy, reinforcing Fold’s alignment with the long-term growth of bitcoin. With this acquisition, Fold secures a top 10 position among U.S. public companies with the largest bitcoin reserves, a list that includes giants like Strategy (formally Microstrategy) and Tesla. “We believe bitcoin will play a key role in the foundation of a new financial era, and Fold will help lead the way. Both H4 and H12 ranges are bearish, but we have swept decent liquidity down there and the sweep was proper so I'm looking to long. Both H4 and H12 ranges low were swept followed by MSBs and M15 and H1, bearish OBs were flipped into bullish breakers. We have pretty nice M15 BPR down there, but not sure if we go that low and I don't want to be honest.

Nasdaq-listed Bitcoin mining firm CleanSpark has announced its upcoming inclusion in the S&P SmallCap 600 index. CleanSpark, one of the largest Bitcoin ( BTC ) mining companies in the world, revealed this via press release on Mar. 10. According to the news release, inclusion in the S&P SmallCap 600 index will go into effect ahead of market opening on March 24, 2025. The S&P SmallCap 600 Index measures the small-cap constituents of the U.S. stock market. It tracks companies based on criteria such as book value and earnings, with these deemed value stocks also evaluated in terms of liquidity and financial viability. Inclusion into the index adds to the recent positive developments for CleanSpark, which completed significant deals in 2024. The miner also crossed 10,000 BTC in its treasury and hit key targets in its hashrate haul. Zach Bradford, the chief executive officer of CleanSpark, noted that joining the S&P SmallCap 600 index marks another significant milestone for the Bitcoin mining company’s employees, investors, and management team. The inclusion is also notable as it recognizes CleanSpark’s consistent market performance. He added: “Our inclusion enhances visibility within the investment community and gives us an opportunity to demonstrate the value of being a pure play, vertically integrated Bitcoin mining company and making exposure to our model more broadly available.” CleanSpark’s first-quarter results indicated that the company’s revenue rose 82% quarter-over-quarter to $162.3 million. Q1 also saw a 33% increase in BTC production, with 1,945 BTC mined over the three months compared to 1,465 BTC in the previous quarter. Meanwhile, the deployed hashrate increased by 41.7% to 39.1 exahashes per second. These spikes came as Bitcoin price recorded a 37% upside movementum. While BTC has dropped 16% in the past month, hovering near $80,000, crypto analysts remain bullish on the asset. Stock analysts also rate the pure-play Bitcoin miner CleanSpark’s stock as a top pick in the sector.

Despite what many expected, the crypto market isn’t doing all that great at the moment. The cryptocurrency market experienced over $600 million in liquidations during the last 24 or so hours. Bitcoin is the leader here with $232 million, followed by Ethereum’s $111 million liquidation. Speaking of Bitcoin, the cryptocurrency fell below $80k , which was likely a reason for even more sell-offs. Other cryptocurrencies didn’t fare any better. Ethereum endured big losses, subsequently dipping below $2k. XRP and Solana are also part of the affected group, as XRP’s liquidations were around $32 million, while Solana’s were slightly smaller at $28 million. Markus Thielen, the chief executive of market advisory company 10x Research, said that when Bitcoin price dropped below $80k, roughly 70% of the sales originated from those who had bought in the last quarter. These actions very likely indicate panic selling. It’s hard to say exactly why this has happened, but it’s possible there are multiple factors at play here. Regardless of how you see it, the crypto market is a financial market, and as such, is not immune to various influences that can tend to hit the finance sector. Trump’s ongoing tariff war with Canada and Mexico could have had an effect as investors are fleeing risky assets, and crypto falls in that category. Then, new limitations were placed on cryptocurrency exchanges and stablecoins by the US government, which translates to more investor distrust, ultimately driving them to sell before potential restrictions take hold.
