XRP Ledger developer accuses Ripple of serious misconduct
XRP Ledger developer Marvin Sunday, known as @MarvinSunday4 on X, has publicly accused RippleX and Ripple (CRYPTO:XRP) of failing to provide promised financial compensation to participants in the XRPL Ambassadorship program, which ended on December 20, 2023.
Sunday's accusations have sparked significant concern regarding Ripple's community engagement practices and the fulfillment of their commitments.
Sunday voiced his frustrations on X, detailing his extensive contributions to the XRP Ledger community as part of the program.
He claims that despite completing all required tasks, neither he nor several other student participants have received the rewards they were promised.
He highlighted the financial strain this has caused, particularly for students who relied on stipends or borrowed money, trusting they would be compensated.
In support of his claims, Sunday shared various pieces of evidence, including email confirmations, event links, project details, and ongoing communications with RippleX representatives.
Initially, he corresponded with a contact named Derrick, followed by Miss Grace, who temporarily resolved some issues before leaving the company.
However, subsequent communications with Derrick led to continued delays and unaddressed concerns.
Sunday explained that he and other ambassadors had previously emailed RippleX, expressing their dissatisfaction and warning that they would take the issue public if not resolved.
Although they were reassured that payments would be processed, half of the compensation remains unpaid.
Sunday, having experienced ongoing delays and lack of resolution, has now taken his grievances to social media.
In response to the public accusations, a Ripple representative acknowledged the issues and attributed them partly to a technical problem that caused the ambassador portal to go offline due to non-payment.
The representative assured Sunday that he was on the list to be paid, but Sunday remains dissatisfied, citing repeated unsuccessful attempts to resolve the issue privately.
This dispute has drawn attention from the broader XRP community, with some questioning the legitimacy of the ambassadorship program and its treatment of participants.
At the time of writing, the XRP price was $0.6012.
