Avalanche is a versatile smart contract platform that empowers users to create their own blockchains or decentralized applications (dApps) for various purposes, such as DeFi and NFTs. It was launched in September 2020 and has quickly become a thriving hub for blockchain activity. In 2021, the Avalanche Rush incentives program was introduced to encourage further growth of the ecosystem and to attract more applications. The platform is composed of 3 primary blockchains - the P-Chain, X-Chain, and C-Chain. The C-Chain is the EVM implementation of Avalanche and serves as a host for different smart contracts and applications. Users can access the platform through centralized exchanges or the official Avalanche bridge, or by utilizing Celer's cBridge.
