CoinDCX Attack Stems from Employee Computer Infected with Malware
Foresight News reports, according to The Indian Express, that the recent attack on an Indian crypto exchange originated from employee Rahul Agarwal’s computer, which was compromised by hackers who installed malware under the pretense of offering a part-time job. This led to the theft of approximately $44 million in cryptocurrency. The company’s Vice President, Hardeep Singh, filed a police report on July 22. An internal investigation revealed that Rahul Agarwal received 1.5 million rupees as part-time income, but he denied any involvement in the case. Police have registered the case under IT law and BNS provisions, and Rahul Agarwal has been arrested on suspicion of criminal activity.
