ProShares, a renowned exchange-traded fund (ETF) issuer in the United States, has received approval from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to introduce three new XRP-focused ETFs. The products are scheduled to debut on April 30, 2025, shortly after the legal dispute between Ripple and the regulator is settled.

The new funds will be based on XRP futures contracts, rather than direct trading of the asset. The ETFs are:
- Ultra XRP ETF: Proposes 2x leveraged daily exposure to XRP prices;
- XRP Short ETF: offers an inverse return of -1x in relation to daily variations;
- Ultra Short XRP ETF: seeks an inverse leverage of -2x to the token's performance.
This move comes in line with the recent inclusion of XRP futures on the CME Group platform, operator of major exchanges such as the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, also scheduled to launch in May 2025.
Meanwhile, the market is closely monitoring the SEC’s review of applications for spot XRP ETFs. The decision on Grayscale’s application is expected to be announced in May, raising expectations for a possible approval that could pave the way for further institutionalization of the asset.
In addition to Grayscale, asset managers such as VanEck, 21Shares and Franklin are also awaiting a response from the SEC, with final deadlines extending until October of this year.
Behind the scenes on Wall Street, the feeling is clear: XRP is increasingly on the radar of major financial institutions, which are moving to bring new products to market.
At the time of publication, the price of XRP was quoted at US$2,32, up 5% in the last 24 hours.
