Trump Expands U.S. Crypto Reserve to Include XRP, SOL, and ADA

U.S. President Donald Trump recently announced that the national crypto reserve will include Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH), XRP, Solana (SOL), and Cardano (ADA). This marks a shift from his earlier stance, where he had only emphasized a strategic Bitcoin stockpile. During the Bitcoin 2024 conference, Trump had promised to retain all Bitcoin acquired by the government, but his recent executive order expands the focus to multiple cryptocurrencies.
His Jan. 23 order directed the President’s Working Group on Digital Assets to assess the feasibility of a national crypto reserve and establish regulatory guidelines for stablecoins. However, it also banned research and development of a U.S. central bank digital currency (CBDC). Some Bitcoin supporters were frustrated by the inclusion of other digital assets, preferring a Bitcoin-only reserve.
To further discuss regulatory plans, President Trump will hold the first White House Crypto Summit on March 7, inviting industry leaders and government officials. The summit is expected to shape future policies surrounding digital assets in the U.S.
