Basel data: The scale of U.S. banking institutions' customer crypto exposure is estimated to be about 201 billion USD in 2023
On December 1, the Basel Banking Supervision Committee released the Basel III monitoring statistical data for December 2023, which includes exposure to crypto assets. Although this data was released late (before the launch of Bitcoin ETF in the United States), it has already shown a significant increase in the scale of US banking institutions providing crypto services to customers. It shows that by 2023, the scale of customer crypto exposure at US banking institutions is approximately $201 billion.
