Bitget copy trading: Position closing for followers
Upon following elite traders to open positions, there are four position closing scenarios.
1. Elite trader closes a position
When the elite trader closes a position, the system will also close the position for the follower.
2. Follower decides to close a position
Followers can close the positions in their copy trades. (Go to My futures copy trades on the Futures copy trading page to close any position.)
3. TP/SL targets are triggered
When following an elite trader, you can set the stop-loss ratio and the take-profit ratio in Risk management. If the TP/SL ratio is reached, your copy trade position will be closed even when the elite trader has not closed the position.
4. The loss of current copy trades is greater than available futures assets
A copy trade position will be closed by the system when the current unrealized loss of the position is greater than the available futures assets.
Notes:
Position details under "Open positions" in "My trades"
1. Copied orders will be displayed separately under Open Positions.
2. Users can close one position at a time in the Details tab under Open positions.
3. Users can close multiple positions of the same futures trading pair and the same direction in the Summary tab under Open positions.
4. All positions in the same direction of a particular futures trading pair are merged into one entry under Positions.
Example:
User A is following elite trader B and elite trader C. The two elite traders have separately opened positions in BTCUSDT">BTC/USDT with a 100X leverage.
User A places 100 long orders at the entry price of 13,000 USDT following elite trader B, and places another 100 long orders at the entry price of 14,000 USDT following elite trader C.
At this point, the entry price displayed at user A's Position is calculated based on the average of the entry prices of the two copy trades. Therefore, the entry price for the open positions shown in the Summary will be 13,500 USDT.
