Valhalla, a blockchain massively multiplayer online role-playing (MMORPG) PlayToEarn project by Floki, has officially become the official partner of the Hong Kong International Cricket Sixes, marking the tournament’s return after a seven-year hiatus. From November 1st to November 3rd, top international teams will compete in this fast-paced cricket match at Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground.
The Hong Kong International Cricket Sixes has been a hot topic since its first event in 1992, and over the years, legendary stars such as Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni, Shane Warne and Sanath Jayasuriya have played in this arena. Valhalla’s partnership with the Sixes is a symbol of the high degree of fit between competitive sports and the world of blockchain gaming.
“We are delighted to be a part of the Hong Kong International Cricket Sixes, the excitement and energy of this iconic tournament aligns perfectly with our commitment to gaming innovation and community building,” said Mr. Brown Whale, Head of Valhalla. “This partnership gives us the opportunity to engage with cricket fans and showcase how PlayToEarn games can elevate entertainment and competition.”
The tournament will be broadcasted by Star Sports Network in multiple territories and in India, viewers will be able to watch the action on Fancode, one of the country’s largest sports OTT platforms.
At the event, key branding will include billboards around the venue, floor mats in the mid-wicket area and backdrops for the medal ceremony, ensuring strong exposure for Valhalla and the Sixes tournament.
This year’s tournament will feature 12 teams divided into four groups. In Group C, India, led by stars such as Robin Uthappa and Kedar Jadhav, will take on Pakistan and the UAE. Group A includes South Africa, New Zealand and hosts Hong Kong. Group B brings together Australia, England and Nepal, while Group D consists of Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Oman. The top two teams from each group will advance to the quarter-finals, with 29 exciting matches taking place over three days.
