Blizzard will launch Diablo 4 patch 1.5.1 on August 20, which will bring some changes to the game’s endgame content, more specifically the Infernal Hordes mode. Players will also receive a bunch of free legendary items in addition to these changes, as previously there was a problem where certain items were not dropping with their guaranteed higher affixes.
Infernal Hordes, an important feature for any player looking to level up and collect high-tier gear, have had a number of its Infernal Offerings beefed up with better rewards at the end of each wave. The Elite options in particular will now give +2 Burning Aether instead of just +1 like before, making them more competitive against Hellborne which currently rules this mode with an iron fist. Additionally, Spoils of Gold chests can now be used multiple times by players throughout their gameplay for added strategic flexibility.
Blizzard supercharges Infernal Hordes with powerful buffs
Specific offerings within the Infernal Hordes mode have been adjusted significantly by Blizzard. Among these is the Burning Rain offering, which will now give 3-9 Burning Aether, triple the previous reward of 1-3. This change is intended to make the offering more attractive, especially when combined with other offerings that cause Hellfire to spawn Hellborne. The company has confirmed that the Hellborne spawn rate will be made more consistent during this update, thereby making this strategy stronger overall.
On top of gameplay improvements, there will also be a cache filled with Legendary items provided by Blizzard for players. These items are guaranteed to roll higher affixes on them, which was being compensated for an early issue where such items were not dropping as often as they should have been. It is believed that this cache should help players optimize their builds in preparation for upcoming content.
Blizzard revamps UI and squashes lingering bugs
Also inclusive of the Patch 1.5.1 are several user interface improvements and bug fixes. Trade chat has now been separated by world tier which encourages communication between players who are at the same level of progress. In addition, leaders of parties can now promote another group member to take charge which increases flexibility in group dynamics.
Other small improvements include in-game notifications for new patches and players being able to change their clan name if desired. Rogue’s Alchemist Control tempering option was temporarily disabled due to issues but is back again with this update.
Notably, this patch includes several bug fixes, the most significant being an issue where the tormented variant of Beast in Ice did not drop the correct number of Pincushioned Dolls at its advanced level. Those players who noticed discrepancies in their character’s stats while being in town should now see this fixed, as it has been a long-standing bug that kept characters from reaching their full potential all along.
